Thanks to pflead73 at Afterburn!!

A big thank-you though to everybody who decided to click that follow button, you are all decidedly awesome – and hopefully you know it! I have been so inspired, amazed and cheered by your support, and am regularly bowled over by the care and understanding I’ve seen in this wonderful blogging community. It has been an amazing few months and I’m so looking forward to the next 😉

Feeling too emotional now…cue the karaoke machine… “You are so beautiful, to meee!”

Keep smiling, guys!

Hi, I’m Jill, a writer and teacher living in the UK, usually behind a desk but sometimes on a sofa with a book or a film. I began writing at around age three, legibly by five, although I didn’t write any stories until I was older. Aged eleven, I began writing children’s fiction, mostly middle-grade fantasy and I’m still doing it to this day. I have had stories published online and in My Weekly magazine. The best bit about writing is when ideas pop into your head (from the writing fairy presumably?) and everything starts clipping together like a jigsaw puzzle. The worst bit? When you start to get the feeling there's a piece missing from the box...

  1. Woohoo, good work! It’s always a nice feeling to realise so many people want to read what you have to say, isn’t it? It is a wonderful little blogging community we have going, although sometimes I suspect little isn’t quite the right word for it… 😛

    1. Thanks! It’s probably more of a huge, scintillating, mammothy leviathan of a community, but very friendly 😉
btw, you’re up late aren’t you? Not that I meant that to sound like prying but isn’t it like the wee small hours where you are?

      1. Hahaha, no no, it was late at night but I think like 10 or 11pm I wrote that comment? I’m wondering if you went in the wrong direction with the time differences maybe? Think I’m 9 hours ahead of you, if you’re in the UK (well, I know I am because all of my relatives live there haha). So yeah, it was perhaps a little late considering I needed to wake up at 5am, but oh well 😛

      2. Oops! using my ‘Alice logic’ again (if it’s winter here it’s summer there, if it’s midday here it’s midnight there) except the time-zone bit is more NZ isn’t it?

      1. No worries 🙂 I love to help wherever I can but I have to remind myself that sometimes people don’t like it.
I really hope you get to that magic number soon! x

  2. Congrats. It’s a good thing, this blogging. I’ve only been on here for a little while, but already I have been given a lot of positive feedback that does a lot to help me on my way.
    Let’s get blogging!

    1. I know 🙂 tbh, I never guessed it was going to be like this when I started. Like most people it was the whole “authors need a platform” business that got me started but then I discovered all these immensely cool and supportive people and now I’m totally just a little bit hooked 😉
